What is Ergotherapy?

Explaining the Ergotherapy Programme begins with explaining ergonomics, which is the study of the relationship between people and their work, aiming to fit the job to the person rather than the person to the job.

Ergonomic programmes address issues such as vision problems, sitting posture, desktop equipment and work patterns. These programmes go a long way towards addressing the problems of unhealthy office environments.

But what happens if someone is already experiencing pain, or an injury develops despite an improved set-up?

The complete answer is found by combining ergonomic principles with physical treatment expertise - what we give workers with this combination is the ability to be both preventative and responsive.

TIME-EFFECTIVE, COST-EFFECTIVE, E-FFECTIVE!

The corporate environment is a demanding one. The primary goal of your business is to run in a way that will increase profit.

In terms of the implementation of the programme, Ergotherapy is designed to be both time-effective and cost-effective.

Time Effective

A one hour lecture and slide presentation is given covering all the principles in a concise, easy to understand way. Staff members then return to their workstations, where they are visited by a consultant, who discusses their specific problems, and they assess the workspace together and make any necessary changes. All our consultants are registered clinicians in clinical practice.

Cost Effective

Ergotherapy focuses on getting people to use the equipment that is available to them properly. It is not about advising on costly changes; it is about optimising current settings.
